Taking time to regularly rest and reset in a sit s Taking time to regularly rest and reset in a sit spot is a gift to yourself and the world around you. Sit spot is a gentle practice that opens the doors of perception and presence in your day-to-day life. It is a radical departure from the glorification of busy to give yourself permission to simply sit, look, listen and experience your place in the natural world and as Mary Oliver said, “let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”

Beginning Friday, August 26 I will share weekly sit spot prompts for your personal practice of connecting with the more than human world.

The prompts are best read when you arrive and settle in at your regular sit spot. Consider hand writing the prompt each week in a journal and taking that journal with you to sit still and be with nature for at least 20 minutes.

A link to a full reflection on the practice of sit spots can be found in my profile.

You can read more about sit spots over on my blog - https://kimberlyaknight.com/sit-spots-a-brief-sabbath-from-stress/

“For many years, I have been moved by the blue a “For many years, I have been moved by the blue at the far edge of what can be seen, that color of horizons, of remote mountain ranges, of anything far away. The color of that distance is the color of an emotion, the color of solitude and of desire, the color of there seen from here, the color of where you are not.” - Rebecca Solnit, A Field Guide to Getting Lost
